1)35min to Tsubetsu from JR Sekihoku line-Bihoro Station, by Hokkaido Kitami Bus (bound for Tsubetsu).
2)40min to Tsubetsu from JR Sekihoku Line-Kitami Station by Tsubetsu Municipal Bus (bound for Tsubestu).

Must see spots around Tsubetsu
“Non-no Forest” / “National Park Townsman’s Forest”
It is the forest surrounding our hotel. Why not take a walk in
the deep woods along the therapy road to enjoy forest bathing.
The clusters of Japanese Primroses are at their best in June.
You can also see Nursing Trees, and walk on fleecy grounds
that can only be seen in the deep woods.
“Tsubetsu Pass-Observatory”
From the medieval European castle-looking observatory, you can overlook the Lake Kussharo, and
Sea of Okhotsk in the distance, and Mountain Daisetsu standing
behind you. Literally, a 360°panoramic view is waiting for you.
“Chimikeppu Lake”
This area is a home to wild birds like Black Woodpecker
(about 40 species of wild birds in total), foxes and squirrels,
with luxuriant primeval forests. You can also visit the Rokunai Falls,
which is located 200meters downstream of Lake Chimikeppu.
“Hokkaido Prefectural Government-Tsubetsu Forest of the 21st Century”
A vast forest with 23hectares of land, where exhibition halls, observation posts, trim footpaths, field athletics are built.
Here, you can observe and learn about the various flora and fauna habiting this area.
“Wood Exhibition Center”
One of Tsubetsu’s land marks. Here, you can buy various hand crafted household goods, made out of trees from this area.
Workshops are available in this establishment, for those who want to make their own original piece.
“Shigechan-land”
A museum exhibiting art works of the artist, Oonishi Shigenari, who was born in this very town of Tsubetsu, Hokkaido.
He is famous for the jacket illustration of Herbie Hancock and Ryuichi Sakamoto’s records. Entertain yourself by visiting
the 14 different exhibition halls built in this establishment.
“Natural Phenomenon’s”
During the winter, you may get lucky to see the Frost Smoke and/or Light Pillars in this area.
